Joseph Jeong, Ph.D., joined ARCH as a Venture Partner in 2021. He is an experienced venture capitalist with investment experience in a wide range of deep technology industries, including biotechnology, semiconductors, advanced displays, energy and advanced materials. He has also invested globally in the U.S., Europe, Korea, Japan, Taiwan, and Southeast Asia.
Prior to joining ARCH, Dr. Jeong was a Co-Founder & Partner at Biopath Ventures, a venture capital firm focused on life sciences tools and diagnostics based in Singapore. Prior to Biopath Ventures, he worked at Applied Ventures, the corporate venture capital arm of Applied Materials, a global leader in capital equipment for the semiconductor and display industries. There he raised Applied Ventures Innovation Fund I L.P., focused on investing in Korean semiconductor start-ups. Dr. Jeong began his venture capital career at ARCH Venture Partners as an intern. Prior to his investing career, he was a consultant at Boston Consulting Group and a research engineer with Samsung SDI where he focused on fuel cell systems and lithium ion batteries.
Dr. Jeong holds B.S., M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Aerospace Engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology and an MBA from The University of Chicago Booth School of Business.
